MUMBAI: The BMC on Saturday demolished illegal temporary structures and turf installations at the Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in Mulund, less than 24 hours after a site inspection led by Mumbai mayor Ritu Tawde and former MP Kirit Somaiyya.The action was carried out by the civic body’s T ward office following complaints of irregularities within the sports complex premises during a review meeting held on Thursday at Mahakavi Kalidas Natyamandir regarding redevelopment and improvement works at the sports complex and adjoining facilities. Civic officials said further demolition action is expected to continue.
