Patna: Members of Parliament (MPs) from different constituencies under the jurisdiction of Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) participated in the divisional railway parliamentary committee meeting held at the Danapur DRM’s office premises here at Khagaul on Tuesday. Out of 16 MPs, seven of them were present while representatives of others attended the meeting.Among those members of parliament actively participated in the discussion were Kaushlendra Kumar (Nalanda), Vivek Thakur (Nawada), Sudhakar Singh (Buxar), Sudama Prasad (Ara), Shivesh Kumar (Rajya Sabha), Shambhu Saran Patel (Rajya Sabha) and Afzal Ansari (Ghazipur).The meeting chaired by Nalanda MP Kaushlendra Kumar discussed a wide range of issues concerning passenger amenities, train operations and infrastructure development. Participating MPs put forward several demands aimed at improving railway services in their respective constituencies. These included proposals for additional stoppages of important trains at various stations, extension of train services to new destinations and enhancement of passenger facilities at stations.Railway officials assured the public representatives that the suggestions and demands raised during the meeting would be considered sympathetically and appropriate action would be taken in accordance with operational feasibility and passenger requirements, sources said.During the meeting, the Danapur division made a detailed power point presentation (PPP) highlighting its achievements over the past years. The presentation covered progress made in infrastructure development, station modernisation, track maintenance, electrification works and measures undertaken to improve operational efficiency.Railway officials informed the members about ongoing and proposed initiatives to strengthen safety mechanisms across the division. These included upgrading signalling systems, improving track monitoring, enhancing surveillance arrangements and undertaking other safety-related works.The MPs appreciated the efforts being made by the division and urged railway authorities to continue focusing on passenger convenience and safety.
