Ranchi: As many as 262 newly recruited state govt officials received their appointment letters from chief minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday.The new recruits include 56 food safety officers selected by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission, 151 contractual specialist medical officers under the National Health Mission, 29 senior hospital managers and 26 finance managers, officials said.Addressing the recruits, Soren said his govt is working to bring every citizen into the mainstream of development. “Adequate manpower in all sectors is essential to ensure development of the state, and in this direction, the govt is carrying out large-scale recruitments,” he said. Soren urged the recruits to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity and honesty and to provide better services to the public.He further said that the govt has been working to strengthen Jharkhand’s healthcare sector and announced carrying out large-scale recruitment in the sector to plug the current workforce gap.“The health sector always faces multiple challenges, including limited resources, a shortage of skilled manpower, delays in treatment and the need to strengthen infrastructure. Innovation, efficiency and promptness in the healthcare system are essential to address such issues. In today’s changing times, it has become essential to adopt modern technologies, improve management practices and establish a fast and effective response mechanism,” he said.Health minister Irfan Ansari said that Jharkhand has been battling an acute shortage of doctors for years. “Accepting the challenge, we adopted the financial bidding model and invited specialist doctors from other states. The initiative proved to be a remarkable success, and many doctors have come forward to serve in Jharkhand,” Ansari said.
