3 women feared drowned in Ganga

Patna: Three women were swept into deep water of the Ganga while bathing at Kachchi Dargah Ganga ghat on the Patna–Vaishali border on Monday morning. Locals rescued one of them, Ranjita Devi (32), who is undergoing treatment. Two others—Meena Devi (60) and Saraswati Devi (65)—went missing in the strong current. SDRF teams, local divers and police from Rustampur and Nadi police stations have launched a joint search operation, which was on at the time of reporting.68 stolen cellphones returned: Police on Monday returned 68 stolen cellphones to their rightful owners under ‘Operation Muskan’ after due verification. The victim, Satyam Kumar of Alauli, had gone to the ghat with two friends, Navneet and Vishal. Police said the trio were bathing when they were caught in a strong current. Navneet and Vishal managed to swim to safety, but Satyam was swept away. An NDRF team launched a search, but he was yet to be traced till the time of reporting.Body found on railway tracks: The body of an unidentified man, believed to be around 40, was found on railway tracks in Yarpur under Gardanibagh police station area in Patna on Monday. Police suspect he was murdered elsewhere and the body dumped near the tracks. The deceased had multiple injury marks on his face and body. A post-mortem has been conducted, and the body kept in the mortuary for identification. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances of the death.
