Jamshedpur: Two more juveniles were detained from separate hideouts in the city on Thursday in the DD bar murder case, while separate police teams have been dispatched to different states to trace and arrest the absconding accused, SSP Ehtesham Waquarib said.Himanshu Singh, 24, died on Monday after being stabbed outside the Bistupur-based pub-cum-bar a day earlierThe two juveniles, both aged between 16 and 17 years, are residents of Seraikela. “The exact motive behind the murder is still under investigation. We are questioning the friends of deceased Himanshu Singh, who were present at the crime scene, while the arrested accused are also being interrogated,” the SSP said.A total of 10 people have been named in the case, of whom five have been arrested or detained so far. A 16-year-old was detained on June 30 while Sonu Ram Sardar alias Sonu Mandal (27) and Raj Lohar (27) were arrested on June 28. Corroborative evidence regarding the absconding accused has been gathered, police added.Meanwhile, district police have stepped up patrolling and surveillance across the city ahead of the Friday’s Jamshedpur bandh called by BJP.SP (City) Lalit Meena said, “ADG (CID) Manoj Kaushik has directed all police station in-charges to conduct physical inspections of all licensed bars and pubs falling under their respective jurisdictions and submit reports to DC Rajiv Ranjan within 24 hours.”“The inspections are aimed at verifying if the bars and pubs are operating in accordance with the approved rules and regulations and action of the local police in this regard,” Meena said.BJP organized torchlight rallies, ‘Aakrosh Mashal Julus’, across all police station areas in the city on Thursday evening in protest against the police’s failure to arrest all the accused in the DD Bar murder case and also the rising crime rate in Jamshedpur.BJP leaders said the DD bar murder was not an isolated incident but part of a series of criminal activities witnessed in the city over the past several months.“Repeated incidents of burglary, chain-snatching, assault, firing, and murder have shaken the confidence of the common people. Criminals are openly challenging the police,” said Jamshedpur (East) MLA Purnima Sahu.
