COs asked to improve rankings & clear backlogs

Patna: Revenue and land reforms minister Dilip Jaiswal on Tuesday asked the circle officials (COs) of all the 26 blocks of Patna district to improve their rankings and clear backlogs in a month.While reviewing the revenue-related operations of Patna district, the minister issued a stern warning to officials, stating that the current performance regarding revenue services is unsatisfactory and requires immediate improvement. He emphasised that no “pick-and-choose” approach would be tolerated in the disposal of cases.“All cases must be resolved strictly on their merits. Don’t get engaged in any wrongdoing due to external influence or pressure,” Jaiswal said.Department’s secretary Jai Singh directed the officials to execute all revenue services and time-bound tasks within the stipulated timeframe. Secretary Seema Tripathi reviewed zone-wise progress and data through a presentation and held detailed discussions with the attending zonal and revenue officers. She instructed them to put in the necessary effort to improve the data.The minister said officials posted in the capital bear greater responsibility and must improve their work style. He directed them to review things again in a month to ensure improvement in the rankings of all circles. “If the expected improvement is not achieved, immediate action will be taken against the officials concerned,” he said.Jaiswal told them that the poor and the general public should not be made to make unnecessary rounds of their offices.Services such as mutation, corrections in land records, e-survey and identification of govt land, the status of applications under the revenue mega-campaign, and the status of applications received during public grievance and assistance camps were reviewed.
