Gumla: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at five locations in Lohardaga district as part of its ongoing probe into June’s petrol bomb attack on the RSS office in Ranchi.The RSS had alleged that petrol bombs were hurled at its office in the Nivaranpur area during the early hours of the day. Police then constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the incident.The NIA team reached Lohardaga around 4am and, with assistance from the district police, carried out searches at New Azad Basti and Rahat Nagar.“The team raided the residence of Aman Ansari in New Azad Basti. He is an accused in the case and is currently lodged in jail,” a source said.During the search, officials used a crane to access the upper floors of the house.Confirming the operation, Lohardaga SP Sadique Anwar Rizwi said, “The NIA conducted raids in Lohardaga and then returned.”
