Patna: BJP on Thursday criticised Kishanganj Congress MP Javed Ahmed over his alleged remarks that Sanskrit is a foreign language, calling the statement objectionable and hurtful to public sentiment.A video doing the rounds on social media purportedly shows the Kishanganj MP saying, “Sanskrit and English came from outside. Hindi and Urdu are our languages. We will not let them die out.”BJP spokesperson Prem Ranjan Patel said Sanskrit embodies India’s ancient knowledge and cultural heritage. He urged the Congress to clarify its stand on the MP’s remarks and take appropriate action if it disagrees.
