Chennai: Life sciences-focused digital engineering company Agilisium is targeting revenue of more than $100 mn by 2027, driven by AI adoption in the sector. The company’s revenue is currently in the range of $60 mn-$70 mn. The US-headquartered company, which has operations in India, said efforts by global companies to build AI-enabled systems and processes while protecting proprietary data are creating new opportunities for Agilisium, according to Raj Babu, founder and chief executive of Agilisium.“The transformation requires massive amounts of contextual and industry-specific customisation, including building custom LLMs and data governance. It is driving growth in our pharma commercial operations, clinical trials, and R&D business. Our 90% to 100% fresh revenue growth is entirely driven by these AI initiatives,” he said.India has become the company’s fastest-growing market due to the large number of domestic pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organisations (CROs), along with partnerships with Fortune 100 global capability centres (GCCs) in technology hubs such as Hyderabad, he said. The company, which has its largest team in Chennai, is investing ₹50 crore to build an AI platform to train employees for forward-deployment expert roles and plans to train more than 1,000 employees in areas such as clinical trials and research.Five years ago, Agilisium was primarily a data analytics company. It has since evolved into what it calls a domain-based process transformation company. He also said the company stopped aggressively hiring programmers last year and is instead focusing on recruiting domain experts such as biotechnology professionals, pharma specialists, and even doctors.
