Man held from Jhansi for strangling Palamu realtor to death over land dispute

Daltonganj: A 26-year-old man from Palamu district was arrested from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly strangling a realtor to death with four others in April this year. The accused, identified as Prashant Tiwary, is a resident of Barkagaon village under Sadar police station limits.He was brought to Daltonganj on a transit permit and remanded in judicial custody, Palamu SP Kapil Chaudhary said on Thursday. Realtor Vinit Tiwary, 32, was gagged to death on the night of April 25 over an ongoing dispute over a land trade. Five men, including Prashant, took part in the crime.In Jhansi, he rented a room using his Aadhaar card and survived on one meal a day to save money. Once he was tracked, a police team kept him under watch for a couple of days before nabbing him. Police sources said his location was traced by tracking his social media usage.
