Dhanbad: Sub-divisional officer (SDO) and electoral registration officer (ERO) for the Dhanbad Assembly constituency, Lokesh Barange, on Thursday reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and directed officials to ensure 100% digitisation of enumeration forms.He held a series of meetings with booth-level officers (BLOs) and booth-level agents-2 (BLA-2) at Government Middle School, Bartand, Delhi Public School, Senior Basic School, Jagjivan Nagar, and H.E. School. Representatives of political parties, BLO supervisors, volunteers, Election Pathshala members and local voters also attended.During the review, Barange issued detailed guidelines for digitising enumeration forms under the SIR process and asked all stakeholders to complete pending work within the stipulated time. He stressed close coordination to ensure a transparent, accurate and error-free revision of the voter list.Barange said the key objective is to finalise lists of absent, shifted, duplicate and deceased voters, verify and compile received enumeration forms, and ensure that eligible members of a family are enrolled at the same polling station wherever applicable. He also directed officials to examine enumeration forms submitted by foreign nationals separately and forward verified lists to the ERO and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO), ensuring that no ineligible person is included in the electoral roll.The SDO instructed BLOs to add all eligible citizens, remove duplicate entries and maintain smooth booth-level verification. He urged BLOs and BLA-2 members to strengthen coordination and make the SIR campaign successful and ultimately prepare a clean, accurate and inclusive electoral roll.
