Ranchi: Union minister of state for defence and Ranchi BJP MP Sanjay Seth on Sunday sought a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).In a social media statement, Seth questioned the transfer of CID officers who were probing the alleged irregularities in a JSSC examination. He claimed the officers had been conducting the investigation fairly and said their transfer raised questions about the state govt’s intent and the credibility of the probe.“If the state govt has even a little morality and sensitivity left towards the future of the youth, all serious matters related to JPSC and JSSC should immediately be handed over to the CBI for an impartial investigation,” Seth said.He expressed apprehension that evidence could be influenced if the inquiry remained with a state agency. Seth also claimed that students had been protesting peacefully in Ranchi for more than a week, but the govt had neither held talks with them nor addressed their demands.JMM rejected the allegations, saying the BJP had no moral right to question chief minister Hemant Soren or his govt.JMM general secretary and spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey alleged that JPSC examinations held during the BJP govt’s tenure had also faced controversies and allegations of irregularities and corruption.Pandey said the CM was committed to ensuring justice and that any attempt to jeopardise the future of the state’s youth would not be tolerated. He also claimed that those involved in a conspiracy against the govt under the cover of the JPSC controversy would soon be exposed.
