Koderma: Koderma police busted an alleged prostitution racket being run from a private hotel at Urwan More under Chandwara police station late on Saturday, arresting five people and rescuing three women.The operation followed a tip-off received by the superintendent of police Kumar Shivashish. A special team led by Tilaiya police station officer Vinay Kumar reached the hotel at night and carried out the raid.Police said the arrested persons included three clients, an intermediary broker and the hotel manager. The clients were identified as Ranjeet Kumar and Birendra Kumar, both from Nawada district in Bihar, and Mohd. Ehtesham of Koderma district. Broker Kailash Prasad Verma and hotel manager Ravi Kumar were also arrested for allegedly facilitating the racket.During the search, police seized used condom packets, potency-enhancing tablets, smartphones, cigarettes and the hotel visitor register from the rooms. Empty liquor bottles, canned beer, two four-wheelers and an electric scooter belonging to the accused were also recovered.The SP said a case has been registered under relevant sections at Chandwara police station and further investigation is underway. He said police remain committed to action against human trafficking, prostitution and illicit liquor sales, adding that “nobody will be spared involved in it.” The rescued women were placed under protection.
