Dhanbad: A three-day police meet and forensic science training programme concluded in Dhanbad with a focus on strengthening scientific investigation and training police personnel in modern forensic techniques.The programme aimed to improve officers’ skills in collecting, preserving and presenting evidence in criminal cases, ensuring greater professionalism and stronger investigation standards.Participants underwent practical training in crime scene management, lifting and packing forensic evidence for dispatch to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), fingerprint examination, oral presentation of investigation procedures and scene-of-crime photography. Experts stressed that proper handling and preservation of evidence are crucial for securing successful prosecution and delivering justice.Competitions were also organised in crime scene investigation, fingerprint examination, oral presentation and crime scene photography to encourage excellence among participants. Three officers were selected as the first, second and third best performers in each category and honoured during the closing ceremony for their performance.Addressing the gathering, inspector general of police Shailendra Sinha lauded Dhanbad senior superintendent of police Prabhat Kumar for successfully organising the police meet and training programme at very short notice. He said such initiatives are essential for building a technologically advanced and professionally competent police force capable of tackling modern-day crimes through scientific methods.Inspector general also inaugurated the newly constructed entrance gate of the Dhanbad Police Centre.
