Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) will organise an orientation programme at A N College, Patna, on Sunday for 192 newly appointed teachers engaged on a contractual basis on the recommendation of the Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC).According to PPU registrar Abu Bakar, principals of 16 newly established Rajkiya Degree Colleges under the university’s jurisdiction will also participate in the orientation programme. The initiative aims to familiarise the newly appointed teachers with basic university rules and regulations, academic discipline and the functioning of the university system, he said .The teachers will also be briefed on the provisions and implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, including changes in the higher education system, curriculum framework, and academic practices under the new policy, he said.Ahead of the programme, the university completed verification of the credentials and documents submitted by the newly appointed teachers at the PPU headquarters here on Friday. University officials examined their educational certificates and other relevant documents as part of the appointment process, Bakar said .Meanwhile, PPU held its 26th meeting of the Financial Committee at the university headquarters on Thursday. The committee discussed and approved financial provisions to meet expenses related to various activities including examinations, promotion of sports, legal matters and other institutional requirements, he said adding the financial committee meeting was aimed at ensuring proper allocation and utilisation of funds for smooth functioning of academic and administrative activities across the university.
