Hazaribag: A 33-year-old cyclist identified as Durga Thakur was killed and three others were injured after a speeding SUV hit the cyclist, plunging into a roadside ditch on GT Road in Gorhar village under the Gorhar police station limits on Tuesday.According to residents, the SUV was travelling towards Barhi when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle near Gorhar and hit Thakur, killing him on the spot. After hitting him, the SUV went out of control and overturned into a ditch, causing severe injuries to three onboard in the vehicle .Following the accident, locals blocked NH-19 demanding compensation for the deceased’s family for about an hour, leading to traffic snarls. Gorhar police station OC Ravi Ranjan said the deceased’s body was sent for postmortem to Sadar Hospital and investigation is on.
