Masked gunmen open fire at Chandragupt coal project office, security guard injured

Hazaribag: Four masked men allegedly opened fire at the office of Shushi Coal Mine, the outsourcing company engaged at the CCL’s Chandragupt Coal Project at Udsu under Tandwa police station area in Chatra on Sunday afternoon, leaving a private security guard injured.According to preliminary information, the four assailants arrived on two motorcycles and opened indiscriminate fire near the office gate. They allegedly fired around 20 rounds before fleeing towards Tandwa.The incident took place around 2.25pm. A private security guard sustained a bullet injury to his arm and was referred to Hazaribag for better treatment. The injured guard was identified as 32-year-old Ravish Kumar Yadav, a resident of Godwar village under Tandwa police station.Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and launched an investigation. Empty cartridges and a handwritten pamphlet were recovered from the spot. Tandwa police station officer-in charge Pappu Sharma said raids were being conducted at suspected hideouts to nab the attackers.Tandwa SDPO Prabhat Ranjan Barwar confirmed the incident and said four criminals were involved. He said preliminary information suggested that around 20 rounds had been fired. He also confirmed that the assailants left behind a pamphlet claiming responsibility for the attack in the name of Rahul Dubey gang. The SDPO said police were working to identify the accused and would arrest them soon.
