Kolkata: A day after Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya cautioned his party colleagues against new “overenthusiastic” inductees who joined after the assembly poll results were out, Union minister Sukanta Majumdar said that errant members would be driven out of the party.“We will first try to convince workers to fall in line. If they don’t understand, we will drive them out of the party,” said Majumdar. “This happens in every family. We try to make the errant members understand their fault,” he added.Majumdar’s message came even as BJP netas on Monday shared two toll-free numbers on social media for registering extortion complaints. Pandaveswar MLA Jitendra Tiwari, who had earlier accused some workers of extortion, posted on Facebook: “The administration will ensure that extortionists are sent to jails.”“We will not tolerate any lawlessness or illegal activity. People should inform the administration and it will take steps,” state minister Dilip Ghosh posted.
