Afghan national detained in Kishanganj: An Afghan national, identified as Abdullah Khan, was detained at Panitanki Integrated Checkpost in Kishanganj on Aug 23 after officials found his behaviour suspicious while he sought an exit permit to travel to Nepal. Police said he had entered India on a valid visa in 2017, which expired in 2022, and had stayed in Kolkata. He was found carrying several Indian identity documents, including a passport, Aadhaar, PAN card and voter ID. Investigators also found contacts with Pakistani numbers and details of foreign travel. Police said no criminal involvement has been established so far.
