NEW DELHI: Former BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla has hit out at the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) after its founder Abhijeet Dipke named Arvind Kejriwal, MK Stalin and Pinarayi Vijayan as his picks for India’s best chief ministers.In a post on X, Poonawalla called CJP a “bunch of fraudiyaas” and questioned why the three leaders were rejected by voters if they were the party’s preferred chief ministers.
Poonawalla took a jibe at CJP
In a video shared with his post, Poonawalla said, “Listen to these 3 frauds of CJP. One was exposed in Latur, another was driven away from Rajasthan, and we have all seen the Delhi shenanigans of the 3rd.”Dipke had named Kejriwal for improving education and healthcare, Stalin for his work on Tamil Nadu’s economy, and Vijayan for enhancing Kerala’s healthcare model.Poonawalla criticised all three choices, alleging that Dipke’s assessment of the leaders did not reflect their records in office.On Stalin, Poonawalla claimed that Tamil Nadu’s debt had risen from Rs 4.86 lakh crore in 2021 to Rs 9.52 lakh crore in 5 years, and alleged that the ‘upliftment’ under Stalin was focused on his family’s interests rather than the state’s economic growth.He also questioned Dipke’s praise of Vijayan’s healthcare model, comparing Covid-19 deaths in Kerala and Uttar Pradesh. Poonawalla claimed Kerala, despite having a much smaller population, recorded around 71,000 deaths during the second wave, compared with around 23,700 in Uttar Pradesh.Poonawalla also targeted Kejriwal’s record on education, referring to the AAP government’s promise to open 500 new schools.“Paathshaala ke badle 800 nayi madhushala khol di,” he said, alleging that the Delhi government opened liquor shops instead.He also referred to the Delhi liquor policy case and the arrests of former Delhi ministers in connection with it.Poonawalla further questioned the name of the party, saying CJP’s preference for leaders rejected by voters meant “Janta” should be removed from its name.“Janta took some other decision,” he said, asking whether CJP was a “fraud party” over its choice of the three leaders.
