Patna: Information and public relations department (IPRD) minister Shrawan Kumar on Tuesday directed officials to step up publicity of the work done by the Samrat Choudhary-led govt during its first 100 days, including through social media platforms.“The work done by the Samrat Choudhary-led govt and its people-oriented policy initiatives should be publicised through various media, including social media platforms, to inform people about them,” Kumar said.Kumar, who also holds the rural development portfolio, reviewed the functioning of the IPRD and directed officials to make its media-related work more systematic and effective.He asked the department to use newspapers, television and radio, besides social media platforms, to disseminate information about govt initiatives and their impact at the grassroots level in districts.The minister stressed the need for wider engagement with people through social media, saying the platforms could help strengthen communication between the govt and the public by highlighting the impact of various initiatives. He also emphasised the need for quality presentation of information.
