Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum and Ranchi administrations have stepped up security for Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions on Wednesday, deploying magistrates and police personnel and using CCTV cameras and drones for surveillance.In Jamshedpur, the procession route has been divided into seven zones. Heavy vehicles will be barred from entering the city between 8 am and 11 pm.East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Rajiv Ranjan said security personnel had been deployed in each zone. Special vigilance would be maintained at sensitive locations and major intersections, while social media would be monitored to check rumours and objectionable posts.The procession will begin from Gandhi Maidan in Mango at 9 am and move to Ambagan in Sakchi, where groups from various areas will converge. It will then proceed via Straight Mile Road, Bistupur Roundabout and Kadma to Dhatkidih Central Ground.Officials have been directed to inspect the route, install barricades and drop gates, and remove obstructions. Police will watch biker gangs and criminal elements. Obscene or provocative songs have been prohibited.SSP Ehtesham Waqarib said the control room would function round the clock. Medical teams, ambulances and fire tenders will be stationed at Gandhi Maidan, Ambagan and Dhatkidih.In Ranchi, police conducted a flag march from Albert Ekka Chowk to Doranda on Tuesday. SDO Kumar Rajat said forces and magistrates would be deployed at sensitive points, with CCTV cameras and drones monitoring processions. Peace committee meetings have been held at police stations.A religious leader said processions would converge at Karbala Chowk before moving through Main Road to Risaldar Nagar for a mass meeting.(With inputs from Ranchi)
