Ranchi: A special CBI court on Friday remanded three officials of the regional pay and accounts office of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to three days in the agency’s custody in an alleged bribery case.CBI arrested senior accounts officer Santosh Kumar Mahto and assistant accounts officers Sunil Kumar and Sujit Kumar Singh during a trap operation on Thursday. The agency alleged that they were caught accepting a bribe.The three officials were produced before the special court, where CBI sought their custody for questioning. Granting the agency’s plea, the court remanded them to CBI custody to help investigators determine whether other officials were involved.Following the arrests, CBI teams searched premises linked to the accused in Ranchi and Dhanbad. The agency said it seized digital devices and documents relating to property purchases, investments, jewellery and bank transactions. A substantial amount of cash was also recovered, it added. Further investigation is under way.
