Patna: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has temporarily postponed the online application process for the teacher recruitment examination-4 (TRE-4), which was scheduled to begin on Sept 1, 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill 32,388 vacant school teacher posts under the education department. According to BPSC, the online application process for TRE-4 was scheduled to open from Sept 1. However, the commission has now deferred the process, citing procedural changes in the recruitment examination.The decision comes after teacher aspirants staged protests in Patna, demanding changes in the TRE-4 recruitment process. One of their key demands was for the recruitment examination to be conducted as a single examination instead of separate preliminary and main examinations.A second major demand was “one candidate, one result”, under which candidates appearing for the recruitment examination would receive a single final result rather than multiple results for different stages or categories.The govt had agreed to consider and accept these demands. BPSC will now incorporate the changes into a revised recruitment notification, following which a fresh schedule for the online application process will be announced.The commission has clarified candidates should not expect the application process to begin on Sept 1. A new date will be announced through a subsequent official notification.
