Dhanbad: A close aide of gangster Prince Khan, Saifi alias ‘Major’, was arrested by Dhanbad police after he landed at Kolkata airport from Dubai on Sunday. He is expected to be brought to Dhanbad soon for further investigation, police said.Saifi allegedly threatened traders and extorted money and played a key role in the Prince gang’s operations, including coordinating extortion and facilitating illegal financial transactions. His name also surfaced in multiple firing cases reported across Dhanbad, police added.Dhanbad SSP Prabhat Kumar said, “Saifi was being tracked for long . The accused was brought from Dubai and arrested immediately upon landing in Kolkata.”Wasseypur-based gangster Prince fled on Nov 24, 2021, after being named accused in the Nanhe Khan murder case. Police said that Prince, who faces dozens of criminal cases, has reportedly shifted his base from Dubai to Pakistan. His gang is known for targeting eminent traders in Jharkhand and sending extortion money abroad through hawala channels.Businessmen in Dhanbad and nearby areas have reportedly been receiving threat calls from international numbers, demanding hefty extortion money in his name, sources said.Law enforcement agencies have issued a ‘Red Corner Notice’ against the gangster. Dhanbad Police arrested dozens of his aides in recent months. During encounters, three of his close associates were injured and subsequently arrested.
