Patna: Education minister MithileshTiwari on Sunday met health minister NishantKumar and sought measures to strengthen healthcare services in Gopalganj, raising issues related to vacancies among doctors and healthcare workers, diagnostic facilities and the availability of essential medicines.Tiwari urged the health department to ensure adequate deployment of doctors and medical staff at the Trauma Centre in Jhanjhwa, community health centres (CHCs) in Sidhwalia, Baikunthpur and Barauli, as well as additional primary health centres and health sub-centres. He said better staffing was essential to improve healthcare delivery in rural areas.The education minister also sought expansion of MRI, CT scan and advanced pathology testing facilities in the district. He said patients, particularly those requiring emergency care or treatment for serious illnesses, should not be forced to depend on private hospitals or travel to other cities for diagnostic services.Tiwari further stressed the need to maintain adequate stocks of anti-rabies vaccines and anti-snake venom at Gopalganj Sadar Hospital and CHCs in Sidhwalia, Baikunthpur and Barauli. He said timely treatment was crucial in cases involving dog, monkey, snake and other animal bites.Health minister Nishant Kumar directed officials concerned to take prompt action and assured Tiwari that steps would be taken to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure the availability of necessary resources in the district. Tiwari said improving healthcare and education remained among the govt’s key priorities.
