New Delhi: The district administration Monday demolished several unauthorised buildings, including farmhouses and other structures, to clear encroachments for the approach road to Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) in south Delhi’s Satbari village.CAPFIMS is a strategically important healthcare institution dedicated to serving personnel of Central Armed Police Forces and their families. The approach road is essential for ensuring safe, reliable and timely access to the institution, particularly for patients, medical personnel, ambulances and emergency services. An official said that a 500-metre road, which is currently only 12 feet wide, is being widened to 100 feet to provide access to the institute and also address traffic congestion in nearby areas. Around 20 buildings were demolished during the action.“The buildings were unauthorised, and the demolition was carried out as per law. Heavy security deployment was made at the site, and the action was completed peacefully,” said the official.
