Hazaribag: Residents will no longer have to struggle to identify the police station of their area during emergencies, with district police installing assistance boards at 80 locations along police station boundaries.The initiative, launched at the direction of Hazaribag SP Aman Kumar, aims to help residents and travellers quickly contact the right police station in the event of accidents, crimes, disputes, or other emergencies.The boards display the name of the respective police station, the beginning, and end of its jurisdiction, and the mobile number of the officer in-charge. Dial-112 emergency helpline and police control room contact number have also been prominently mentioned.Kumar said, “Confusion over police station jurisdiction often leads to delays in filing cases or reports, especially in border areas of the district. Valuable time is often lost in identifying the police station concerned. These boards will enable people to directly contact the relevant officials and seek immediate assistance.”The initiative is expected to improve response time by allowing people to promptly inform the police station or the control room concerned about any untoward incident, police said.The SP stressed, “The boards are not meant to merely mark police station boundaries but also serve as a direct communication link between the public and the police during emergencies.”
