Chennai: Forty students, were treated at a hospital on Thursday after consuming breakfast in which a dead lizard was found at a govt middle school near Mappedu in Tiruvallur district. They had complained of vomiting and dizziness.The incident occurred at the Govt Middle School in Kottaiyur village, where 55 students study. Students were served kichadi for breakfast on Thursday morning. Staff later noticed a dead lizard in the food served to the students, after which they immediately stopped others from eating it.However, about 40 students who had already eaten the food complained of vomiting and dizziness. The affected students were taken to Tiruvallur Govt Hospital, where they were given treatment. Officials said all the students were stable.Parents rushed to the hospital after learning about the incident. Officials have launched an inquiry into the incident.
