Dumka: Three days after a woman had left Kalidaha village home with her two-month-old daughter on early Sunday morning, their bodies were found from a hill on the fringes of Maldhara village in Pakur district, police said on Thursday.The deceased were identified as Hoponti Besra (28) and Monika Hansda. Hoponti’s body was found hanging from a tree with a rope, while the infant’s body was lying nearby late Wednesday, police added.Quoting family members of the deceased, officer in-charge of the Maheshpur police station Ravi Sharma said, “Hoponti had left home with the baby in the early hours of Sept 27. Relatives from both her parental and matrimonial families had been searching for them since then. Her husband, Santosh Hansda (30), works as a labourer in Odisha.”“The bodies have been sent to Sonajhuri-based Pakur sadar hospital for post-mortem examination. The deaths occurred around two days before the bodies were discovered. We are examining all possible angles, including the possibility of murder. The post-mortem report and the investigation will help establish the cause of death,” he added.
