Ranchi: Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL) will set up electricity control rooms in every district before Durga Puja and deploy electrical personnel at each pandal during festival hours to ensure uninterrupted power supply and public safety.JBVNL headquarters has directed the general manager-cum-chief engineers of the electricity supply areas in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Hazaribag, Giridih, Dumka and Medininagar to complete preparations in advance and ensure reliable power supply across the state.As part of the plan, field officials will contact office-bearers of all puja committees in their respective districts. The pandals must be located at least five metres from overhead power lines. Connections will be provided through service wires of suitable capacity, based on the actual load requirement.For public convenience, JBVNL will publish the mobile and telephone numbers of junior electrical engineers, assistant electrical engineers, executive electrical engineers and control rooms. Details of planned power shutdowns for tree trimming will also be published in local newspapers in advance.Maintenance teams have been instructed to inspect low-tension wires and transformers near the pandals. Transformer capacity will be enhanced wherever necessary to prevent overloading. Specialised meter and relay testing teams will inspect power transformers and vacuum circuit breakers installed at all power substations.The 33 kV and 11 kV feeders will be patrolled, while transformer oil will be topped up and planned branch trimming completed to minimise the risk of outages.“Officials have been directed to strictly comply with all instructions and complete all maintenance work within 10 days,” JBVNL director (distribution and project) Prabhat Kumar Srivastava said.
