Kolkata: The body of a man, with his legs tied and blood stains on his face, was recovered from inside a locked, stationary app-based cab in Tangra on Wednesday morning. The car was registered in the name of the deceased individual, Bhagwanprasad Gupta.Locals grew suspicious after the car remained parked along the DC Dey Road for several hours and then alerted the Entally police station. A local mechanic was brought in to break open the locks. Police immediately sent to a state-run hospital for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause and time of death.Detectives are tracing the victim’s final movements on Tuesday night, compiling call detail records, and reaching out to his family members, relatives, and close associates. Investigators are also coordinating with the app-cab aggregator platform to track the vehicle’s GPS route and log its final trips prior to the murder.
