Patna: Health secretary Kumar Ravi on Thursday reviewed the progress of the under-construction AIIMS Darbhanga and redevelopment works at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), directing officials to accelerate construction while maintaining quality standards.Inspecting the sites, Ravi assessed ongoing work at the AIIMS campus and the proposed 1,700-bed modern hospital under the DMCH redevelopment project. He instructed officials to complete all work within the prescribed timeline.Describing AIIMS Darbhanga as a major Centre initiative aimed at providing accessible and modern healthcare facilities, Ravi said there should be no compromise on construction quality. The Rs 2,007 crore AIIMS project is scheduled for completion by April 2028.Officials informed him that work on the boundary wall and gate was underway, along with infrastructure for transmission line shifting, borewells and power supply.The AIIMS campus will include a 720-bed hospital, medical college, AYUSH block, nursing college, auditorium, hostels, residential quarters, sports facilities and biomedical waste management centre.
