Alka Lamba’s 88-year-old father’s Tagore Garden home burgled, 3 masked men caught on CCTV

New Delhi: Congress functionary Alka Lamba’s 88-year-old father’s house in west Delhi’s Tagore Garden was allegedly burgled in the early hours of Sunday by three masked men who fled with cash and jewellery, police said.The house in C-Block, Tagore Garden, is under the jurisdiction of Rajouri Garden police station. According to the FIR, a gold chain, diamond earrings and gold earrings, besides Rs 1.75 lakh cash, were stolen.The burglars were captured on CCTV cameras installed on the property. The footage purportedly shows the three masked men entering the house and leaving on a motorcycle.Lamba said her father was safe and alleged that the trio managed to carry out the burglary within about 10 minutes. In a post on X, she said, “The CCTV footage installed at father’s house reveals everything. Three masked men enter the house and, after clearing everything out in 10 minutes, flee on a single bike.”She also urged police to examine CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding area to identify and trace the suspects. “If the police wish, they can easily reach the criminals by investigating every CCTV. The first link has already been handed over to the police,” she said.Police have registered a case and are examining the CCTV footage from the house as well as cameras installed along the suspected escape route.Teams are working to identify the suspects and ascertain their movements before and after the burglary.Police said further investigation was underway.
