NEW DELHI: A 70-year-old woman was killed after a Mercedes and a WagonR collided head-on in the Narela area of Delhi on Saturday morning, police said.The accident occurred at around 8am in front of Himalayas Apartment in Mamurpur, Narela.According to preliminary inquiry, the impact of the collision caused the WagonR to be thrown backward, after which it hit a three-wheeler loading van parked nearby.The woman, identified as Urmila, was present at the spot and got trapped between the vehicles. She died on the spot, police said.The driver of the WagonR sustained minor injuries and was provided medical aid, police added.A bottle of beer was reportedly seen inside the Mercedes following the accident.Further details, including the circumstances leading to the collision, are awaited as police investigate the incident.(With agency inputs)
