Before Durga Puja, security measures at 7 districts reviewed

Dhanbad: IG North Chhotanagpur Range Shailendra Kumar Sinha on Saturday reviewed security measures across seven districts ahead of Durga Puja and directed the SPs to ensure adequate deployment, crowd management and smooth traffic during the festivities.The meeting, which took place in the district collectorate building here, also took up crime control measures, Left Wing Extremism, organised crime, cybercrime and the progress of pending cases.“SPs of the districts have been asked to identify sensitive locations, ensure adequate deployment at puja pandals and crowded areas, strengthen surveillance and put effective traffic arrangements in place,” Sinha said after the meeting.Police personnel were also told to maintain close coordination with organisers and other departments to prevent any untoward incident and ensure a smooth movement of devotees and vehicles.Hazaribag DIG Anjani Kumar Jha, Dhanbad SSP Prabhat Kumar, Ramgarh SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, Bokaro SP Nathu Singh Meena, Koderma SP Kumar Shivashish, Giridih SP Vimal Kumar and Chatra SP Animesh Nathani were among those who attended the meeting.The IG reviewed extremist activities and organised gangs, directed intensified action against absconders, faster disposal of cybercrime, SC/ST Act, POCSO, crimes against women and NDPS cases, regular police station inspections, pending probes, attachment warrants, pension, compassionate appointments, departmental proceedings and inter-district coordination.
