Patna: Bihar is set to attract industrial investments worth Rs 505.27 crore and generate around 5,000 jobs after the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) approved 26 projects and allotted 33.08 acres of industrial land on Thursday.The projects were approved by the Project Clearance Committee (PCC) of the BIADA at a meeting chaired by Kundan Kumar, secretary, department of industries-cum-managing director, BIADA and IDA. The proposals cover sectors such as food processing, textiles, leather garments, bag and belt manufacturing, animal feed and general manufacturing.Officials said the projects will be established across different industrial areas in the state with a focus on boosting local employment and utilisation of available resources. The meeting also discussed expansion of manufacturing units, development of new industrial clusters and allotment of plug-and-play sheds to facilitate quick operationalisation of industries.State industries minister Shreyasi Singh said the continued flow of investments reflected growing investor confidence in Bihar’s industrial policies. She said the approved projects would accelerate manufacturing activity and create new employment and skill-development opportunities.Kundan Kumar said land was being allotted through a transparent and time-bound process and added that improved connectivity and simplified procedures had helped create a more investor-friendly environment in the state.The meeting was attended by resident commissioner and investment commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh, besides representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Bihar Chamber of Commerce & Industries (BCCI) and Laghu Udyog Bharati.
