Bokaro: Two persons were killed and five others were injured when a passenger bus collided with a car in Giridih district on Thursday. The incident took place at Lal Bazar area under Dhanwar police station limits around 5 am.Police said the bus was headed towards to Khorimahua when it collided head-on with the car which was travelling to Birni from Deoghar. The impact of the collision left the car mangled.The deceased were identified as 70-year-old Bangali Hadi and 24-year-old Kumkum Kumari, both residents of Birni police station area. Both were travelling in the car. Five others travelling in the car – Sukri Devi, Tara Devi, Ronit Kumar, Jaynarayan and Arvind Yadav sustained injuries and were admitted to a hospital for treatment. The passengers were returning from a wedding in Deoghar.Brajesh Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Dhanwar police station, said locals rescued the passengers from the wreckage.“On receiving information, we reached the spot with our team, ensured the injured were shifted to hospital. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident, including possible negligence and vehicle speed,” Kumar said. The dead bodies were sent for post-mortem.
