NEW DELHI: A controversy has erupted in northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar after a CCTV video allegedly showed a sub-inspector (SI) slapping two women during a police intervention at a hotel.The incident reportedly took place in Panchwati, where police had reached following a late-night clash between two groups.According to allegations made by the women, the SI slapped them in the presence of a woman police officer. The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage, which has since surfaced and gone viral.Police sources said a woman from the opposing group was also injured during the altercation.Following the incident, SI Himanshu has been transferred to District Lines, and a Preliminary General (PG) enquiry has been initiated to examine the circumstances of the incident and the conduct of the police officer concerned.Officials said further inquiry is underway and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the PG enquiry.
