CM flags off 84 Bihar Police vehicles to strengthen crime control

Patna: Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Friday flagged off 48 buses, 30 four-wheelers and six ambulances for the use of Bihar Police and said the new vehicles would further strengthen crime control, quick action in emergency situations and public safety.Accompanied by deputy chief minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Choudhary flagged off the new vehicles from a specially-built podium in front of ‘Samvad’ Hall, located at the chief minister’s secretariat here.In a statement, the chief minister said the availability of these police vehicles would further enhance the operational capacity and efficiency of policing in the state. It would also provide greater convenience in maintaining law and order, he said, adding the state govt is committed to providing state-of-the-art facilities to the police force.Samrat also said the state govt is continuously working to equip Bihar Police with modern resources. “With the induction of these new vehicles, the police’s quick response capacity will increase, the patrolling system will become more effective, and better security and police services will be made available to the general public,” he said.Before the flagging off of the vehicles, the chief minister took information from the officials regarding their functioning.During the programme, DGP Vinay Kumar welcomed the chief minister by presenting him with a green plant.Principal secretary to chief minister Deepak Kumar, chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, development commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh, secretary to the chief minister Lokesh Kumar Singh, home department secretary Kundan Kumar, DGP (vigilance) Jitendra Singh Gangwar, DGP (operations) Kundan Krishnan, along with other senior officials, were present on the occasion.
