Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday inaugurated the newly built hangar of the Bihar Flying Institute at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque.He handed commercial pilot licence certificates to four successful candidates — Captain Kumar Dhairya, Captain Genius Vivek, Captain Karn Kumar Bharti and Captain Sonal Man Singh — and wished them success in their careers. Samrat said Bihar’s youth should explore advanced sectors such as aviation and showcase their talent at national and international levels.Officials said the new hangar would strengthen the institute’s infrastructure and improve facilities for the maintenance, parking, inspection and repair of training aircraft.An aviation official said the state govt had also prepared a proposal to set up a satellite campus of the institute at Muzaffarpur airport.Established in 1940 as the Bihar Flying Club, the institute currently trains 24 private pilot licence candidates and 28 commercial pilot licence candidates and operates four Cessna 172R training aircraft.
