Patna: Hundreds of Congress workers staged a protest here on Monday against the case registered against party functionary and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in Uttarakhand. Instead of attempting to silence him, the BJP should answer the questions raised by the people, he said.He accused the BJP of pursuing politics that, he alleged, weakened constitutional values and democratic institutions. He further alleged that the rights of dalits, backward communities, poor people and other marginalised sections were under attack. He added that whenever Congress and Rahul Gandhi raised their voices on behalf of these sections, the BJP govt and its allies allegedly resorted to cases and intimidation.During the demonstration, Congress workers raised slogans against the BJP govt and termed the case against Rahul Gandhi an act of political vendetta. They demanded that the case be withdrawn immediately.
