Patna: Hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, and the regular bail applications of jailed security guards—Pradeep Kumar and Talebar Singh—was deferred on Tuesday, with the court scheduling the matter for further hearing on Wednesday at 10.30am.District Judge Rupesh Deo heard arguments from both sides for nearly 40 minutes. During the proceedings, counsel representing complainant Roshan Anand, an educator, sought production of Khan’s previous criminal history. Accepting the request, the court directed that the relevant records be produced before the next hearing.The Judge also observed that the matter had remained pending for a considerable period and indicated that the case would be heard in its entirety on July 8, when a decision on the bail pleas is expected.At the previous hearing, the Additional District Judge (ADJ) had extended interim protection from arrest to Khan and his associates until July 7.Meanwhile, the Patna Police’s investigation has revealed fresh details regarding the firearms carried by Khan’s two bodyguards in its case diary. According to police sources, the weapon allegedly used in the firing incident was issued in the name of Talebar (34), a resident of Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. However, investigators found that the firearm licence was not valid for use across the country.Police alleged that Talebar neither obtained permission to bring the weapon from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar nor secured authorisation to work as an armed security guard in the state. Following verification of the firearms and licence documents, investigators added these findings to the updated case diary.The investigation further revealed that Talebar allegedly failed to inform the local police station, the arms magistrate, or the district administration about carrying a firearm while working in Bihar, which police said amounts to a violation under the Arms Act and related legal provisions.The case stems from the firing incident that took place on June 2 under Kadamkuan police station area in Patna. Following the incident, Khan lodged a complaint naming Roshan, his brother and several others, alleging that they were involved in the attack. A counter-complaint was also filed in connection with the incident, leading to multiple FIRs and the ongoing investigation. The case has since triggered a legal battle over the role of Khan and his security personnel, with police probing the circumstances surrounding the use of firearms during the incident.
