Rampurhat and Kolkata: The state govt will unveil a roadmap for the proposed Deocha-Pachami coal mining project by the last week of Sept, CM Suvendu Adhikari said on Saturday. Even while doing so, the CM alleged that pattas for the tribal land in the area had been allotted, in violation of rules, to Trinamool workers from Burdwan.“The pattas were subsequently used to claim compensatory jobs. The govt has already cancelled illegal pattas as well as the jobs secured on their basis,” Adhikari said.Speaking on the beginning of commercial crude oil production at Ashoknagar, the CM said it was possible because his govt’s “positive outlook” had replaced the previous TMC dispensation’s “negativity”. “The only policy of the previous govt was ‘no, no, no’. The only mantra of the present govt is ‘yes, yes, yes’,” he said.Meanwhile, BJP senior Amit Malviya described the crude oil production as a “historic moment for Bengal”. In a post on X, Malviya said on Saturday that the first consignment of 12,000 litre had already reached Haldia Refinery. He noted that oil was discovered at the site in 2018.Taking a swipe at the previous TMC govt, Malviya alleged that the project had remained stalled for years because of “file-pushing and delayed clearances”.“Within months of the BJP govt taking charge, Bengal’s own crude is finally flowing to the refinery. This is what it looks like when a govt chooses to unlock Bengal’s potential instead of sitting on it,” he posted.
