Dhanbad: A 28-year-old man, identified as Shubham Yadav alias Tufan, was shot dead by unidentified assailants inside his house in Koiridih late Friday.According to reports, the incident occurred when Shubham was present in his room, while his elderly grandmother was asleep in an adjacent room. The sudden sound of gunshots spread fear among residents. His grandmother rushed in and found him lying in a pool of blood, following which she raised an alarm.On receiving information, Shubham’s younger brother, Veeru Yadav, rushed home and immediately took him to Asharfi Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead during treatment.Senior superintendent of police Prabhat Kumar said that preliminary investigation suggests the murder could be the result of rivalry among criminals. He added that Shubham had a criminal background with multiple cases registered against him and was allegedly a part of gangster Aman Singh’s gang.Dhanbad mayor Sanjeev Singh visited the hospital after learning about the incident and demanded a thorough probe. He said such incidents are a matter of serious concern and urged the police to ensure swift arrest of those involved.
