Drone, laser shows to mark opening of Shrawani Mela

Patna: Signages displaying key mobile helpline numbers will be installed along the entire Kanwar path to assist devotees during the Shrawani Mela, tourism secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said on Friday while reviewing preparations for the monthlong fair, which will be held from July 30 to Aug 28.Chairing a review meeting, Lokesh directed officials to ensure special barricading near Ganga ghats for the safety of Kanwariyas, timely sand-laying along the route and regular police patrolling.Lokesh said, “A drone show and laser show near Baba Ajgaibinath Temple in Sultanganj will be a key attraction on the inaugural day. National-level artists will perform at both the opening and closing ceremonies. Tent cities will be set up at various points along the Kanwar path with facilities like bathing areas, pure drinking water, toilets and uninterrupted power.”He said Didi Ki Rasoi, operated by Jeevika, would serve clean and hygienic food, with rate charts displayed prominently at every outlet. The tourism department will allocate space for these kitchens.Lokesh said the route from Baba Ajgaibinath Temple in Sultanganj to Dumma on the Bihar border would feature grand entrance gates, decorative lighting, themed décor and continuous chants of Shiva mantras.Similar arrangements are being made at all tent cities, including Ajgaibinath and Sultanganj.The secretary stressed that all preparations must be completed well before the deadline to ensure Kanwariyas do not face any inconvenience during the monthlong fair.
