Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum police launched messaging platform-based ‘Johar Police’ chatbot to provide citizens with an online assistance platform to access a range of police-related services and information from their mobile phones, thereby improving service delivery and enhanced public engagement.To access the service, citizens need to send “hi” to the number, 9471167577, or scan the QR code issued by the district police.East Singhbhum SSP Ehtesham Waquarib said, “The initiative was designed to make police services more accessible and reduce the need for citizens to visit police stations and offices for routine services. It will also enable faster communication between the police and the public.”The platform offers assistance and information on services such as lost mobile phones, cybercrime complaints, traffic issues and e-challans, passport verification, character certificates, and character verification. It also provides support related to women’s safety, eve-teasing complaints, and senior citizen assistance.Citizens can submit complaints, suggestions, and feedback through the chatbot and also track the status of police verifications, applications, and complaints submitted at police offices.
