Patna: Bihar is exploring the possibility of developing modern coaching hubs on the lines of Rajasthan’s renowned Kota model with education minister Mithilesh Tiwari scheduled to visit the state on Monday to study its education reforms and coaching ecosystem.During the visit, Mithilesh will meet Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, deputy CM Diya Kumari, assembly speaker Vasudev Devnani and education minister Madan Dilawar. Discussions will focus on quality education, school management, digital learning, teacher training, skill development and student-centric initiatives.Officials said a key objective of the visit is to examine the Kota model, regarded as the country’s leading coaching hub for engineering, medical and other competitive examinations. The Bihar govt will assess whether similar integrated coaching hubs can be developed in Patna and other major cities.According to the education department, the proposed hubs would bring together coaching institutes, libraries, hostels, career counselling services and other academic facilities within a single campus, offering students a safe and conducive learning environment. The initiative is aimed at reducing students’ dependence on other states for competitive examination preparation while strengthening Bihar’s educational infrastructure.“The Bihar govt is committed to bringing comprehensive reforms and innovation in the education sector. Successful educational models from across the country will be studied and adapted to suit the state’s needs,” Mithilesh said.He added that providing quality education and better facilities for competitive examination preparation within Bihar remained one of the govt’s top priorities and expressed confidence that the visit would pave the way for greater collaboration between the two states in education.
