Kolkata: Citing the Garden Reach and Taratala disasters, former KMC councillor of ward 48 Biswarup Dey quits Trinamool Congress, hours after attending the workers’ conference, organised for the North Kolkata party workers, under the banner “we are not traitors” on Thursday.Dey was among the eight councillors who were present at the Rammohun Hall and was even seated on the stage. Talking to he said, “I had attended the meeting called by the Ritabrata faction and also the meeting called by Kunal Ghosh. At both meetings, I found lack of transparency. The factionalism within the party has exhausted me. I want some relief. As a councillor, I raised questions over the functioning of the corporation but no one paid heed.
