PATNA: A court on Monday granted bail to Roshan Anand in a case linked to the vandalism of and stone-pelting at educator Faisal Khan’s coaching institute. Khan is popularly known as ‘Khan Sir’.After being released from jail, Roshan alleged that Faisal Khan was responsible for his brother’s death and demanded that a narco test be conducted on him to uncover the truth.“Patna police have been compromised and are acting under the influence of Faisal Khan. I was arrested within six hours, but despite having 72 hours, police failed to arrest Faisal Khan. He is enjoying political protection. A narco test should be conducted on Faisal Khan to uncover the truth,” Roshan Anand said.“This is a conspiracy. Faisal Khan has lied so much. There was no firing from our side, yet he claimed there was. The CCTV footage showed who did the firing. Faisal Khan. Yet, Faisal Khan is out of jail. He has not been arrested by the police, ” Roshan added.Niranjan Kumar Singh, counsel for Roshan Anand, told PTI that the charges against his client were “fabricated and politically motivated” after a court granted him bail.“Section 109 of the BNS (attempt to murder) was wrongfully applied because the case lacked the legally required elements of intention, knowledge and presence of the accused at the crime scene,” the lawyer said.He alleged that Faisal Khan used his “political influence” to ruin Roshan Anand’s status.“Despite the lack of evidence, Roshan Anand was sent to jail based on a conspiracy and a false statement by Khan sir claiming eight to 10 rounds of gunfire were heard,” Singh added. He alleged that despite facing serious non-bailable charges under the Arms Act in a counter-FIR, Khan Sir secured interim relief by “suppressing material facts and changing statements”.Khan Global Coaching Institute in Bihar‘s capital was allegedly vandalised and pelted with stones earlier this month.Faisal Khan initially claimed that shots had been fired at the institute, but police said they could not confirm the allegation. He later stated that the ongoing investigation would determine exactly what had occurred.Three people, including Roshan Anand, the director of a rival coaching institute, were arrested in connection with the incident.(With agency inputs)
